  • Remember to blink. Most people blink less when they look at a digital screen. If you feel your eyes drying out while using the computer, blink a few times to wet them with natural tears. Consider supplementing with artificial tears if your eyes become uncomfortably dry.
  • Try to have overhead lighting in the room match the brightness of your screen. Bright ambient light will compete with your screen and make it difficult for your eyes to focus.
  • Take a little time away from your screen and let your eyes rest. This is one of the easiest and most effective methods to reduce eye strain. Go on a short walk and stretch out your legs.
